Unsigned 30 Day Bedermeier, Time Only
- Description:
-
This mint condition clock dates from around 1870. As is normal for a long duration Vienna, this clock has a five-wheel train, and winds counter-clockwise.
The case is a mix of walnut and mahogany; it has aged to a dark mahogany lustre. It is highly polished and waxed, and is in absolutely flawless condition. The headpiece, tailpiece and finials are all perfect and original to the clock, as are the wall stabilizers.
The mechanism is equipped with maintaining power, and has been completely restored, with the plates and wheels highly polished and gilded, and all steel screws polished and re-blued.
All brassworks in this clock have been highly polished and gilded, including all pendulum hardware, five-spoke pulley wheel, dial hardware (including backplate), and weight shell.
The dial assembly is completely original and in near-perfect condition. As is normal with Vienna regulators, the hands on this clock were hand-made; they are simple, elegant works of art.
