This classic English bracket clock was made by James Pyott, in Leith, and dates from around 1830. It features a beautiful crotch mahogany Regency-style case, with turned brass columns, brass grillwork on the sides, and combination brass / wood feet.
The clock has been completely restored to its original beauty. The cable-drive 8 day fusee movement has been completely polished, cleaned, oiled, and gold plated. The pivots have been polished, and all the arbors have been polished to a high sheen.
The original case finish has been cleaned and waxed, and all of the brass case components have been polished and gold plated.
The dial is original, and has a touched up area near 7 o'clock, plus some minor flaking. The dial signature is original.
The rear access door was replaced some time ago by an accomplished woodworker.
This is a lovely 175 year old clock, in outstanding running order.
